Have you been trying to break into show biz but just didn’t have those family connections? Or maybe your last performance got panned by some cranky judges and you only got a two paw rating. Shake it off and get ready to take the stage again. This is your big chance! It doesn’t matter what gift or talent you have, you’re welcome at Fido’s Festival USA® the extraordinary dog’s, all-inclusive, don’t-care-who-your-parents-are dog event.

 

 

 

FIDO'S FRIENDLY COMPETITIONS

 

Join us for our fabulous fall themed canine contests.  All contests will take place on both Saturday and Sunday throughout the festival.  Exact times will be posted as we near the festival date. Please check back often as we update the competition schedule and competition descriptions.

 

 

 

Howl-o-ween Costume Contest

Grand Stage

 

It’s time to get dressed up and show us your Howl-o-ween spirit! Whether you dream of being scary, silly, famous, or glamorous! Let’s show everyone just how creative we canines can be.  And, you know how our human friends LOVE dressing up with us. They can participate in this one too. Bring props or whatever your costume calls for—the more creative the better!

 

Rules: All doggie contestants must be accompanied by a human.

 

 

 

Fantasy Football- FETCH!

Frisbee Field

 

It’s football season! I LOVE football!   But why should the humans have all the fun?  It’s your chance to shine on the field with our football pass contest!  Start practicing now so you can make the team!  See if you can be named “The Most Valuable Pooch”.  Our football contest will get everyone into the fall sports spirit.

 

Not so great at the sport of football?  Not to worry.  We will continue our tradition of offering Fido’s Frisbee Fetch contest as well.

 

 

Rules: Owner must participate as Frisbee thrower and coach!

 

 

 

Scary Moments Photo Contest

You make us smile now make us scream!  We’re looking for the scariest dogs with FUR-raising potential.  Get dressed up, surround yourself with props, and create the scariest setting you can think of because it is that time of year to let your inner beast out.  Make your next Kodak Moment into a frightening one. 

 

 

Rules: All amateur camera buffs are eligible to submit one (1) photo of their best friend portraying their most frightening costume. No professional photos permitted. All photos will become property of Fido's Festival USA® and will not be returned. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded on Saturday and Sunday and announced at the end of each day. Winners will be posted on the Fido's Festival USA® website.

 

 

 

Obsta-ghoul Course

Agility Course

 

Nothing can scare you! If something’s in your way you’ll either leap over it, run through it, or even low crawl under it!  Only real dogs here, no scarecrows allowed!  The fastest dog to complete the course is the winner.  I just love this contest because I get to show just how fast I really am! 

 

 

Rules: Must be accompanied by any age handler.

 

 

 

Hallo-weiner Race

A one-of-a-kind dog requires a one-of-a-kind race.  Get your short little legs ready and start practicing NOW!  By special request from our human dachshund owners, we have added this year a race specifically for this breed.  This is YOUR day to cross the finish line first! 

 

 

Rules: All entrants must be Dachsunds. This race requires 2 handlers: one at the starting line and the other at the finish line.

 

 

 

‘Lil Leaf Chasers

Have fun chasing all those fall leaves but can’t run with the big dogs?  Well, here at Fido's Festival USA® you don’t have to because we have a race just for you!  Dogs with short legs have spirit and speed too so here’s your chance to prove just how fast you can run.  Practice, practice, practice and I know you will show everyone just how fast a little dog can run! 

 

 

Rules: All entrants must have legs no longer than 3”. No Dachsunds permitted (see special Hallo-weiner Race). This race requires 2 handlers: one at the starting line and the other at the finish line.

 

 

 

"Pick of the Patch" Talent Contest

Do you stand out in the pack? If you’ve got a talent, don’t just bark about it, get your paws on stage and show us what you’re made of and win a prize!  All dogs with a talent that enter this contest will receive a biscuit! So, show us your best “trick” and we’ll give you a “treat”!  

 

 

 

Rules: Must be accompanied by owner. All props are the responsibility of the contestant.

 

 

 

Which is Witch? Look-a-like Contest

Hello there my furry canine friends?  Rumor has it that when you live with someone long enough, they start to look just like you!  Is someone in your family starting to take on your good looks?  If there is a head turning comparison between you and one of your family members, bring them to the festival and compete for a prize. 

 

 

Rules: Look a-likes appear on stage for judging.

 

 

 

Leaf-Kicking Campsite Contest (Campers ONLY)

To be awarded at 11:00 AM on Sunday.

 

Bring your best fall decorations and set the mood at your campsite! It’s time to be creative, get festive, and welcome the new season! One winner will be chosen and announced on Sunday. There will be a winner for the best RV and a winner for the best tent.
