“A HOWLIN’ HALLOWEEN” PARADE
Saturday 2:30 PM & Sunday 1:45

It’s time to get dressed up and show us your Halloween spirit! Whether you dream of being scary, silly, famous, or glamorous this is your moment to stand out among the rest! Invite your canine or human family members to dress up with you too. I hear this year there will be a category in our “Spooktacular Masquerade Contest” that includes our human friends too! Wear your bling, bring your props, ride on your very own float because there is a prize for that too this year! Shake the cobwebs and let the creative juices flow with fabulous ideas for this year’s parade. All witches, warlocks, goblins, vampires, and monsters are invited. Just how imaginative and clever are you?

There will be a Grand Master leading the parade with Fido. Immediately following the parade the costume contest will begin. See our Canine Contest page for contest categories and information.

DISC-CONNECTED K9’s

Saturday 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM

Sunday 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:45 PM

Lawrence Frederick and his dog “Harley Davidson” won the 2008 & 2010 AWI Disc Dog World Championships and then turned around three weeks later and won The 2010 Skyhoundz Disc Dog World Championships with “Flash”. They are the only team to have ever won both championships in one year.

Lawrence Frederick, originally from Penns Grove, NJ, is a disc dog trainer at Disc-Connected K9’s located in Jacksonville, Florida. His team of incredible dogs is the most widely recognized Frisbee Dog Team in the world.  You may have seen them on David Letterman, Good Morning America, Jay Leno, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet or a host of other TV programs.

As a dog lover and a former human Frisbee World Champion, Lawrence travels around the world sharing his expertise and wowing crowds as part of the Disc-Connected K9’s Frisbee Dog Team. Their routines are choreographed to music, defy the normal relationship between man and canine, and leave even the oldest of children with a smile on their face and in their heart.  To make it even more interesting, all of the dogs are “rescue” dogs, whose stories are almost as interesting as their performances.

The Disc-Connected K9’s will entertain Fido’s festival attendees with shows throughout the weekend. Meet Lawrence and his world class champions and enjoy some high flying fun!

“LURE FOR A CURE” LURE RACING

On-going Saturday & Sunday

The National Canine Cancer Foundation and its Lure for a Cure offers High Performance Lure Course racing for the third year at Fido's Festival USA®.   Dogs of all sizes and all breeds can participate.  Watch as your best friend chases a tail around an enclosed course complete with obstacles and a timer.  Dogs can run for fun or compete for their very own ribbon.  No training is necessary to join in on this exciting and fun activity as pure instinct drives the dog to chase the tail.  Fido LOVES this sport and gives it two paws up!  Let your dog give it a try.

The best part of the "Lure for a Cure" race is that the proceeds go to funding canine cancer research. Bring your dogs and let them do what comes natural knowing your participation helps raise money to help beat canine cancer.  Last year $4,200 was raised for canine cancer research at Fido's Festival USA®‘s lure course!

Extra fee for participation paid directly to “Lure for a Cure” with no financial gain to the festival. Tickets are $7.50 for one time around the course or $10.00 for three times around the course.

The fee to have your pet michrochipped is $30 and will be paid directly to The Animal Welfare Association. Why risk loosing your Fido? Take precautions while supporting The Animal Welfare Association at the same time!
